Fallacy of moisturizer containing "collagen".

When it comes to stimulating collagen in the skin don't be fooled by creams boasting "collagen"! The collagen molecule is to large to enter through the skin.  Instead collagen is made by stimulating the fibroblast cells through products such as Retinol, Vitamin C as well as peptides. A Chirally correct form of these ingredients are best for the skin.  Prescription A tends to thin the epidermis and we know thinned skinned people wrinkle faster!

What's important to know about sunscreens?

How does sunscreen work?
Sunscreen lotions work by absorbing, reflecting or scattering UV light. Sunscreen ingredients are either physical (reflecting) or chemical (absorbing, scattering) in nature. Many products contain a combination of ingredients. Regardless of the combination of ingredients, it is important to select a product that rates its level of UVA protection.
What does SPF mean?
SPF (Sun Protection Factor) measures how long it takes sunscreen protected skin to begin to sunburn (turn red) as compared to unprotected skin.

What is Collagen and how can I get more?

Collagen - is it really so important?
Collagen is a natural protein component of the skin that acts like a scaffold and the main building block for cells, tissues and organs. About a third of the protein content in your body is made up of collagen, which is found in the bones, muscles, and tissues of the organs. Collagen, keratin and elastin give the skin its strength, elasticity and structure.
The body naturally produces the collagen that it needs, but this production is gradually disrupted as part of the natural aging process.

Is your chemical peel natural or made from chemicals?

That’s a funny question because everything, whether man-made or from mother-nature, are chemicals.

They are derived from natural ingredients…meaning the lactic acid is derived from dairy, the malic acid is derived from apples, the salicylic acid is typically derived from wintergreen.  However, it is still a chemical process that those ingredients go through to get them in the state that they are in the bottle used in your Chemical Peel .

Microdermabrasion can definitely help
Microdermabrasion, also referred to as mechanical exfoliation or micro resurfacing, is a method for facial rejuvenation that uses a mechanical medium for exfoliation along with adjustable suction to sweep away the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis. It is a non-invasive procedure, which is performed in-office by a trained skin care professional. Candidates include individuals struggling with sun damage, acne prone and blotchy skin, fine scars, slight wrinkles, keratoses, large pores, non-inflamed whiteheads caused by keratin-clogged pores, or unfavorable skin texture.
